Elif Shafak

Months can go by without me reading a novel – and then suddenly I come under a reading spell, spurred by a book that I can’t put down. I picked up Ms. Elif Shafak’s Forty Rules of Love in a hotel book shop in Lahore. Haven’t finished it – luckily- as I so enjoy being taken into the worlds of Oriental medieval dervishes, delicate New England homemakers and the wisdom of Rumi.

Like Ella, the protagonist of the story, I feel that every word of A.Z. Zahara is written for me.
